BIG NEWS!

New donation page!

We are also sponsoring a surgery!

The procedure is $600 and this boy's name is Xiao Jian, who was born in Eastern China.  He needs a Hernia surgery because of a weakness in his abdominal wall that has developed into a hole where fat, tissue and organs can protrude.  The operation is for his long-term health and is very common.

Hi everyone! We are hosting a logo t-shirt contest! Whether it be digital or hand drawn, we want a creative and personalized logo for our Ridgewood High School Half the Sky t-shirts!

Prize? $30 gift card to the Garden State Plaza!

Requirements?

  1. Must include the club name: Half the Sky China Care
  2. Must be appropriate!
  3. Please include your name and grade on the back.
  4. Try not to make it too elaborate or big; it's only a logo and keep in mind that we will have to scan the picture.
Submission?  The deadline is December 20, midnight.  You can enter digitally or make a hand-drawn picture and hand it in to room 300, Mr. Muro.  If you enter digitally, email your entry with your name and grade to kawong28@gmail.com

Adoption Celebration

The Adoption Celebration last Friday was a big success!  We had arts and crafts (Origami and chopstick dragons) and a few wonderful speakers.  The presentations were great, the food was yummy and the kids were adorable.  We were even in the paper here .

Thank you to everyone who attended and we are sorry for the people who couldn't make it.  Hope to see you next time!

Welcome!

RHS Half the Sky-China Care Club was established to improve the lives of orphans in China. According to China.org, the number of China’s orphans has reached over 700,000, 24% higher than in 2005. Many orphans are in need of special medical surgeries ranging from cleft lip and palate, to hydrocephalus and heart defects. Our goals are to help fund for a child's life saving surgery and to give China's orphans a second chance at childhood.

Mission Statement
“Half the Sky was created in order to enrich the lives of orphaned children in China. We provide model programs and caregiver training designed to offer loving, family-like care to children of all ages and abilities. It is our goal to ensure that every orphaned child has a caring adult in her life and a chance at a bright future.”
